Privacy Policy — THC Break Buddy

The short version. THC Break Buddy is a personal tolerance-break tracker for Android and iOS. Everything you log — your break, usage calendar, daily check-ins, symptoms, badges, and drug-test estimates — is stored only on your device. We run no servers and cannot see your data. The one exception is advertising: the free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which uses limited device and advertising identifiers to serve them. The one-time premium purchase removes ads. The app is for adults of legal age and is not a medical, diagnostic, or drug-testing service.

1Who this applies to#

This policy covers the THC Break Buddy mobile application published by Dlonem LLC on Google Play and the Apple App Store. The app is intended only for adults who are of legal age to use cannabis where they live. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 (or the age of majority in your region).

2What the app stores, and where#

THC Break Buddy is a local-first app. The information you enter is stored on your device only. Dlonem LLC operates no servers, no database, and no cloud storage of its own, and therefore has no access to this information and does not transmit it to us.

  • What you can enter. Your onboarding profile (typical usage methods, amount, duration, and goal), your break and usage calendar, daily check-ins (mood, symptoms, cravings, urges resisted), milestone badges, and any inputs you give the optional Drug Test Tracker. This is used only to power the app’s estimates and coaching on your device.
  • No account, no cloud. The app has no sign-in and no server. Your data stays in this app’s local storage on your device — we never receive, read, or store it, and it is not synced to any cloud by us.
  • Optional manual backup. You can export a copy of your own data from within the app and save it wherever you choose (for example your notes, a file, or an email to yourself) using your device’s own share options, then import it later to restore. This is entirely manual and optional; the exported copy goes only where you send it. (Note: on Android, the system’s own Auto Backup may separately back up app data to your personal Google Drive under Google’s terms — a platform feature we do not control or receive.)
  • Deleting your data. You can reset your current break or erase everything from within the app (Settings → Reset this break / Start over). Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data from your device.

3Advertising (free version) — Google AdMob#

The free version displays ads via Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process data such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and ad interactions, for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. It is encrypted in transit and is kept separate from the personal break data in Section 2 — AdMob does not receive your check-ins, symptoms, calendar, or drug-test information.

  • Google’s handling of this data: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses information from partner apps.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • iOS — App Tracking Transparency (ATT): on Apple devices the app will ask for your permission before any tracking that uses your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, ads may still be shown but will be non-personalized. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Region consent (EU/UK and similar): where required, you will be asked for ad-consent choices through Google’s consent mechanism before personalized ads are shown.
  • Removing ads: the one-time premium purchase removes all ads, after which the ad SDK no longer serves ads in the app.

4Data we process — at a glance#

This table mirrors the answers you should give in Google Play’s Data safety form and Apple’s App Privacy questionnaire.

DataWhere it livesPurposeLinked to you / used to track?
Break, usage calendar, check-ins, symptoms, badges, drug-test inputs & estimatesOn your device only (plus any manual backup copy you export yourself)App functionality you asked forNo — never sent to us; not used for tracking

Purchase record (that you bought premium)Google Play / Apple, on-device receiptUnlock premium; restore purchasesHandled by the store; no card details reach us

Note on sensitive inputs: your usage history, symptoms, and drug-test inputs may be considered sensitive or health-related. They are used only on your device to personalize your estimates, are never transmitted to us, and are never shared with the ad SDK.

5Purchases#

The optional one-time premium purchase is processed by the platform’s billing system — Google Play Billing on Android and Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit) on iOS. We do not receive or store your payment-card details; the store handles the transaction under its own terms. A Restore Purchases option in the app lets you re-activate premium on a new device or after reinstalling.

6What we do not do#

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
  • We do not collect your name, email, or precise location for our own use.
  • We do not require an account, email, or sign-up to use the app.
  • We do not upload your break, calendar, check-in, or drug-test data to any server we control — we operate no server or database that receives it.
  • We do not build advertising or marketing profiles from your break data, and we do not use your on-device tracking data to advertise to you.

7Your choices & rights#

Because your personal tracking data stays on your device, you control it directly — edit, reset, or erase it in the app, or uninstall to remove it. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK), the CCPA/CPRA (California), and similar frameworks, including regarding data processed by Google for ads. You can exercise ad choices via your device’s ad/tracking settings, and contact us with any privacy question at thcbreakbuddy@dlonem.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

THC Break Buddy is a supportive, educational habit-tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, and it does not provide medical or legal advice. Its recovery timelines and drug-test estimates are informational only, are not guarantees, and must not be used to make medical decisions or to decide whether to take a real drug test. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The app does not facilitate the sale, purchase, or delivery of cannabis or any other product.

9Children#

The app is for adults only and is not intended for anyone under 18 (or the age of majority where you live). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone — including minors — because the app collects no data and sends nothing to us. There is therefore nothing on our end for us to access or delete. Any data a user enters lives only on their own device and can be erased at any time within the app (Settings → Start over) or by uninstalling.

10Data security & retention#

Because your tracking data never leaves your device (except to a manual backup you choose to export yourself), it is protected by your device’s own operating-system security and any passcode or biometric lock you use. We retain none of it, because we never receive it — it lives only on your device for as long as you keep the app installed and is removed when you erase it in-app or uninstall. Advertising data processed by Google is retained by Google under its own policies. There is no server-side copy for us to lose, breach, or be compelled to disclose.

11Changes to this policy#

We may update this policy as the app evolves or as store requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12Contact#
