One person, one made-up word

Dlonem is a one-person studio. Everything on this site — the apps, the mods, the videos, the Discord servers — is built and answered by the same person.

Who this is

I’m Thomas. Dlonem LLC is my studio, and for most practical purposes Dlonem LLC is just me — I write the code, draw the icons, record the videos, and answer the support email. If you send a bug report, it lands in front of the person who caused the bug.

The name is a made-up word with no meaning behind it. It came out of a random name generator years ago and stuck, which is a much less interesting origin than people expect. The full story of how I got there — by way of a Roblox account called Carlman622, a World of Warcraft warlock, and a decade as Mr.Potato — is on the Legacy page, if you want the long version.

What I make

Four phone apps. Three of them are Break Buddy apps — for cannabis, caffeine and nicotine — and they all do the same job: help you take a break from a habit and show you honestly what is happening while you do. The fourth, Tiny Dragon Hoard, is a cozy idle game about a dragon who collects things. All four are here.

Two Crusader Kings III mods. The Long Night & Azor Ahai builds the Long Night out as a real endgame for the A Game of Thrones total conversion, and Supernatural adds vampires, werewolves, witches and hunters to the base game. Both are free, both are on the Steam Workshop, and both can be installed by hand without Steam.

Four Discord communities and a YouTube channel. The oldest community has been running since 2016. The channel is where all of this started — it is still the reason most people find anything else I make. Both are linked from the Community page.

How I build things

A few rules I hold to, because they are the reason I started making my own apps rather than using someone else’s:

  • Your data stays on your device. The Break Buddy apps store what you enter — your history, your notes, your reminders — locally. I do not collect it and I cannot read it. The privacy policy is short because there genuinely is not much to disclose.
  • No accounts. You should not need to sign up for anything to track your own coffee.
  • No subscriptions. Where an app has a paid unlock, it is a one-time purchase. I am not going to charge you every month for a habit tracker.
  • Estimates are labelled as estimates. The apps show you timelines drawn from published research, and where a number is a projection rather than a fact, it says so. These are wellness tools, not medical advice, and they do not pretend otherwise.

Getting in touch

The fastest route depends on what you need. Each app has its own support address, listed on its policy page. For anything else — a bug, a question, a feature idea, or business — contact@dlonem.com reaches me. There is more detail, including what to put in a bug report so I can actually fix it, on the support page.

For the mods specifically, the Discord servers are faster than email, because the rest of the community is there too and someone has usually hit your problem already.
